Pink illumination symbolises hope and solidarity while encouraging women to prioritise breast health, timely evaluation and screening.
Raipur, 12th October: Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute has been illuminated in pink this October to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, turning the hospital into a visible symbol of hope, awareness and solidarity with women affected by breast cancer.

The initiative aims to encourage women to prioritise their breast health, pay attention to unusual changes, seek timely medical advice and undergo recommended screening. It also seeks to encourage families to speak openly about breast health and support women in seeking medical attention without fear, hesitation or stigma.
The pink illumination is more than a visual gesture. It represents hope and courage for women undergoing breast cancer treatment, survivors and their families, while reinforcing the importance of awareness and timely diagnosis in improving treatment outcomes.
Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute provides comprehensive multidisciplinary cancer care through a team of highly experienced oncologists, bringing together expertise across surgical, medical and radiation oncology. The team comprises  Dr. Mou Roy, Senior Surgical Oncologist & Clinical Director - Surgical Oncology; Dr. Ravi Jaiswal, Senior Medical Oncologist & HOD – Medical Oncology; Dr. Gourav Gupta, Senior Radiation Oncologist & HOD – Radiation Oncology; Dr. Naveen Jain, Senior Surgical Oncologist; Dr. Neeru Kerketta, Senior Consultant – Nuclear Medicine, working together to provide personalised and coordinated cancer care from diagnosis and treatment planning through recovery and follow-up.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Mou Roy, said, “Breast cancer should not be surrounded by fear or silence. Women should feel comfortable talking about breast health and seeking medical advice when they notice any unusual change. Timely evaluation can help detect the disease at an earlier stage, when treatment can often be more effective and outcomes can be better. Every woman’s cancer journey is different, and effective treatment requires specialists from different disciplines to work together while supporting patients emotionally throughout their recovery. Our message to every woman is simple — know your body, do not ignore changes and do not delay seeking expert advice.”

Dr. Ravi Jaiswal, explained, “Breast cancer treatment has advanced significantly, with targeted therapies, immunotherapy and personalised treatment approaches offering new options for patients. Early diagnosis and the right treatment at the right time can make a meaningful difference in outcomes.”

Dr. Gourav Gupta, Senior Radiation Oncologist & HOD – Radiation Oncology, explained, “Modern radiation therapy enables precise treatment while protecting healthy tissues. At Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute, we use the Active Breath Coordinator (ABC) technique for left-sided breast cancer patients, helping reduce radiation exposure to the heart and making treatment safer and more precise.”
Through the pink illumination, Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute is also seeking to make breast cancer a conversation beyond hospitals and consultation rooms — within families, workplaces and communities. The initiative reinforces the message that greater awareness, timely screening and early medical intervention can help more women access appropriate care at the right time.
Throughout Breast Cancer Awareness Month, the pink glow of Ramkrishna CARE Cancer Institute will serve as a reminder across Raipur that breast health deserves attention and that awareness must translate into timely action.
