Maharashtra today reported 3,524 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total caseload to 19,35,636. It is noteworthy that daily new infections have continued to remain below 4,000 over the last fortnight.

Maharashtra today reported 3,524 new cases of COVID-19, taking the total caseload to 19,35,636.  It is noteworthy that daily new infections have continued to remain below 4,000 over the last fortnight. 

According to the Public Health Department, 4,279 patients were discharged, taking the total number of recoveries to 18,32,825. With 59 fatalities, the death toll has risen to 49,580. The number of active cases in Maharashtra currently stands at 52,084.

 
Maharashtra’s recovery rate stands at 94.69 percent while the Case Fatality Rate stands at 2.56 percent. Maharashtra has conducted 1.28 crore tests so far and the positivity rate stands at 15.09 percent.
 
Mumbai’s caseload increased by 631 new cases to 2,94,067. The city reported nine fatalities and 628 discharges during the day.
