Sunlight is essential for life on Earth. It not only affects hormone production but also plays a vital role in effecting our mood all day long.

Morning sunlight  is  a necessary element that greatly enhances our general health and wellbeing , It is important to lead a healthy lifestyle and is  generally  considered good for health and mind when enjoyed in moderation.

Here are some of the ways sunlight benefits health and mind:

  1. Vitamin D : Sunlight exposure leads  to production of vitamin D in the skin, which is essential for bone health, immune function, and mood regulation.
  2. Improved Mood: Sunlight exposure  increases  serotonin levels in the brain, which can help eradicate  symptoms of depression, improve sleep and overall mood.
  3. Good for Infants :  A  2017 study  conducted by the University College of Medical Sciences, New Delhi showed that exposing babies regularly to sunlight has the ability to give them sufficient vitamin D levels to keep them healthy, Babies need vitamin D to absorb calcium and phosphorus. Lack or too little vitamin D can cause rickets, which is  softening and weakening of bones. 
  4. Enhanced Skin Health: Sunlight exposure can  help the body produce melanin, which protects the skin from harmful UV rays.
  5. Boosted Immune System: Sunlight exposure stimulates the production of white blood cells (WBC) , which plays a vital role in fighting off infections and boosting overall immune function.
  6. Bone Health: Vitamin D, synthesized by sunlight exposure, is essential for calcium absorption and bone mineralization, which is important for promoting stronger bones and reducing the risk of osteoporosis.
  7. Ameliorated Cognitive Function: Some research states that sunlight exposure may have cognitive benefits  such as  improved memory, better concentration, and mental clarity.
  8. Better Vision: Adequate sunlight exposure can lead to  reduced risk of nearsightedness (myopia) in children and adolescents. Hence it  has a good impact on eyesight  by improving your vision .
  9. Increased Productivity: Exposure to natural daylight has effects on hormonal functions and internal clock ,thereby increasing  productivity and performance .
  10. Improoved emotional state : Sunlight exposure can help regulate  melatonin, a hormone that influences sleep and mood, leading to a more balanced emotional state.
  11. Regulated Sleep Patterns: Exposure to natural sunlight during the day may helps regulate the body's internal clock (circadian rhythm), which promotes better sleep at night

However, it's crucial  to note that while sunlight offers numerous benefits, it's essential to enjoy it in moderation and take appropriate precautions to avoid overexposure and sun damage, by  wearing sunscreen and protective clothing.
