Weight loss on a weighing scale

Maitri Ramaiya gives an insight about fat loss and says, “The scale is the last thing you should be attaching to your weight loss or fat loss goals to. 99% of the time, when people say they want to lose weight, it is basically that they want to lose fat, and 1 % of the time when they say that they want to lose weight, they also want to lose muscle. So 99% of people want to lose fat and not weight. A 5 kg muscle occupies less space than 5 kgs of fat. A person weighing 75 kgs when drops 5 kgs of fat and gains 5 kgs of muscle, there won’t be a change in weight on the scale but you will reduce in inches. That is because the muscle has increased in your body and occupies less space and the fat has vanished.”

Challenges faced by the Health and Wellness industry in India

Maitri Ramaiya informs

  1.  “The weighing scale which does not show a reduction in weight
  2. People tend to check their weight every day and when you check it every day, there will be water fluctuations and you will be worried about the changes in weight
  3.  A body can fluctuate about 2 to 2.5 kg weight in a day. You can't rely on the weighing scale instead you should rely on the inches and the fitting of your clothes”

The best way to lose weight

 Maitri Ramaiya informed the following:

“Do not starve

The best way to lose weight is the healthy way to lose weight in which you are not starving. There should be no restrictions on your diet and you should feel full all the time.

Eat foods that keep energy high

Eat foods that keep your energy high so that you don’t feel lethargic and tired. Keep your endurance, stamina, high.

Protein

Eat protein because your body requires a lot of protein. Protein is the only macronutrient that leads to all the repairs of the cells which get damaged daily. This is a secret to a complete health plan.

Other Nutrients

Include fruits, vegetables, nuts, greens, and carbohydrates as well”

Healthy Nutrition plan

Maitri Ramaiya informs, “All the healthy plans by me include sufficient carbs because the body needs it. You are never in the stage where you can stop carbs and live only on protein. This will help you to create a healthy body. Some bodybuilders who have rice for lunch and dinner and still maintain amazing physique. So change your misconception that any kind of food group is bad for you.”

Best Weight loss advice

Maitri emphasizes “The importance of a professional Nutritionist and Diet Coach who has expertise in the field. Joining a nutritionist who can hold your hand throughout your weight loss journey is very important. There may be situations where you might bounce back if you are doing it on your own. Engage in a professional who can guide you through your journey”
