Rajasthan Health Minister says that the recovery rate in Rajasthan stands at 73%.

On Sunday, Rajasthan Health Minister Raghu Sharma said that out of a total number of 10,385 COVID-19 patients in the state, 7,606 patients have been cured, registering a recovery rate of 73.24 percent. He pointed out that if the number of infected patients is increasing in the state, the no. of recovered cases are also increasing in the same proportion.

About 5 lakh people have been tested for virus infection and more than 1.25 lakh tests have been conducted at the state’s largest Sawai Man Singh Hospital alone. The health minister said that the number of corona patients in the state has doubled in 21 days, while their death rate remains at 2.25 percent.

He mentioned that according to the data released by the Central government, Rajasthan has been successful in curing COVID-19 patients and ranks top in terms of reduced mortality and increased recovery rate after treatment, besides other facilities and safety measures. He said that testing is being done at 21 centers in 15 districts of the state currently. Adequate facilities have been assembled in the state including ventilators, ICU, bed with oxygen, isolation bed, he also added that Rajasthan is now ready to face any situation.

Dr Sharma said the ''Nirogi Rajasthan'' campaign is on the priority of the government.”

Meanwhile a suspected case of coronavirus has been reported in Rajasthan, the patient had returned to India from China following which the patient has been kept in isolation, state Health Minister Raghu Sharma said on Sunday.

He informed that a doctor, who had returned to India after completing the MBBS course in China, was being kept in isolation at the SMS Hospital on the suspicion of being affected by coronavirus. Instructions have been given to conduct a screening of all the family members of the patient, he added.

In an official statement, the minister stated that a blood sample of the patient has been sent to the National Virology Laboratory in Pune.

He also informed that a total of 18 people from four districts had returned to the country from China and the respective district chiefs and medical officers have been instructed to keep them under observation for 28 days.

Raghu Sharma also urged the Union Health Minister to make the screening facility available at the international terminals of various airports in the country for effective detection of the affected patients.
