‘’Patience, consistency, and perseverance go hand in hand to achieve fitness,’’ says Ujwal Rathod, Master trainer, Fitclub gym

“It's all about the mentality, if you have space inside the house, you have some good equipment at home, definitely you can do home workouts, it's just you need to find the time,” says Ujwal Rathod, Master trainer, Fitclub gym.

National Personal Trainer Awareness Day is observed every year on January second with a day to honor the experts who assist us with keeping our goals high.

As the new year begins, one of the most popular resolutions of every year is getting fit, and hence comes the popular demand for personal training comes for the rescue. Their tasks are not exclusively to inspire us, yet to ensure we figure out how to function our bodies securely. As much as lack of motivation keeps us from our goals, the inappropriate use of equipment can lead to injuries which again can become a reason for getting demotivated.

So we have for you an exclusive series about the Best Personal Trainers sharing their views on fitness and health.

Ujwal Rathod, Master trainer, Fitclub gym, is an ISS certified personal trainer and nutritionist. He was the Miami pro-2019 Mr. Model, celebrity trainer, and fitness model, and also Spartan Nutrition sponsored athlete and nutritionist.

Fitclub gym’s goal is to change lives through encouraging and motivating their members to succeed using the latest technology in body assessments and activity monitoring to reach their health and fitness goals.

Fitness and health go hand in hand

Ujwal shares his views, “After this COVID situation, everyone is more into their health and everyone is looking up to their health and fitness now more than ever before. In a metro city like Mumbai, due to a busy routine, we have a lot of stress on our body and our mind, to relieve this stress we just need an hour for our bodies. Fitness is a must because we are living a very fast life in Metro cities, our health is affected because of the pollution and other factors. Hence, giving yourself an hour in the gym or an hour to any kind of activity is the best thing. I would say, fitness and health go hand in hand,” he says.

Be consistent and focused

Ujwal explains, “One should not be looking for quick results because the thing which comes very fast doesn't last long, so if you want to have good fitness, you need to have patience, consistency, and perseverance, these three go hand in hand, so you need to be very patient. Just do your things properly, follow the plan properly under whom you are training, or whatever your plan is, you should be following it step by step guide every day. Fitness should be a lifestyle, every day. There are so many things like crash diets, keto diets, etc, but I believe, you can eat everything at the right time, enjoy your meals, and enjoy life also. Just have consistency with workouts even if it is one hour a day, just be focused that will result in your fat loss because it takes time to build muscle or even to reach your fitness goals of weight loss,” he says.

Look for someone who is passionate about fitness

Ujwal sheds light on the subject, “Some people pop up on social media, like Instagram, or Facebook, who have a physique, to gain some followers, and start giving some guru talks with no logical science backing it and they're not even certified and have no idea about the mechanism of the body or how it works or how nutrition plays an important role in the fitness regime, and these people share tips. So follow people who have been in the industry for 2 – 3 years, who have a piece of practical knowledge, who are certified and it's very important not to follow these quacks. Look for someone who knows what they are doing, is passionate about it, and always upgrades themselves because you learn every day,” he says.

It's all about the mindset

Ujwal talks about digitalization, “We are changing with the world. There were virtual training sessions during the lockdown and I think that is a people's mindset that we can work out at home, rather than going out during the pandemic while not ignoring the workouts. There was a tutoring session as well where people have done really well. It's all about the mentality, if you have space inside the house, you have some good equipment inside the house, definitely, you can do home workouts, it's just you need to find the time,” he says.
