Medicinal Plants Conservation Under AYUSH

For conservation of medicinal plants, the Ministry of AYUSH under its “Central Sector Scheme on Conservation, Development and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants

For conservation of medicinal plants, the Ministry of AYUSH under its “Central Sector Scheme on Conservation, Development and Sustainable Management of Medicinal Plants” is supporting different activities viz. in-situ Conservation by way of establishing Medicinal Plants Conservation & Development Areas (MPCDAs), in-situ/ex-situ Resource Augmentation in forest areas and ex-situ Conservation by way of establishing Herbal Gardens throughout the country. To conserve the medicinal plant's raw drugs, the Ministry of AYUSH under its above said Central Sector Scheme has also supported a project to establish National Raw Drug Repository (NRDR) at Regional Ayurveda Research Institute, Jhansi (CCRAS), Uttar Pradesh.

The financial assistance given in the last three years under the above central sector scheme for conservation and infrastructure development through projects sanctioned on the above activities throughout the country is as below:

 2016-17, 31.69cr  2017-18, 30.18cr 2018-19, 26.21 Financial Assistance Provided.
