How to identify Bone Tb?

TB of the spinal cord is similar to TB of the lungs. What is spinal TB, how does it spread, and how it is identified, having answered all these questions, let us understand spine TB in detail

TB is a bacterial infection. This bacteria is called Mycobacterium tuberculosis. It often affects the lungs. We do know that lung TB is often spread through coughing, sneezing, and spitting by an infected person. When these infected particles enter the body after breathing inside a healthy person, then he also becomes infected.

What is spinal TB?

When a germ called Mycobacterium enters the spinal cord tissue and causes infection there, then it is called Spinal Tuberculosis.

How to recognize spinal TB?

The following are the symptoms of spinal cord TB:

  • Back pain
  • Feeling physically weak
  • Loss of appetite
  • Feverish
  • Having sinus problems
  • Lower body paralysis
  • Bladder problems
  • Weight loss
  • Nighttime fever
  • Daytime fever
  • Muscles become weak
  • Bone weakens
  • Cold abscess

Causes of TB in the spinal cord

Blood-borne infection

TB is an infection, whenever someone comes in the grip of this infection, then this bacteria goes into the blood. So that bacteria can go through the blood vessels from the blood cells to the spinal cord, in the knee, in the chest, in the lungs, etc. Wherever this bacteria goes in the body, it stops and starts forming pus. So that's where the infection happens. Spine tuberculosis is a blood-borne infection. The bacteria will first go into the blood, while a lung infection goes into the body through breathing. This blood-borne infection of bacteria can lodge somewhere in the body.

In India, this bacteria is found in many people. But it is not necessary that all these bacteria cause infection. Even if a person has been exposed to this bacteria and if his immunity is very good, then he suppresses this bacteria.

Weak immunity

Due to weak immunity, this mycobacterium bacteria can cause infection in the body. People who have low immunity, people who are malnourished, or who have any kind of disease like cancer, HIV-AIDS, uncontrolled diabetes, hypothyroid, steroid patients, etc., get this infection inside the spinal cord.
