Having good oral hygiene can help your immunity to become better. But it is very important to brush the right way. Read to know more.

Brushing is the most effective way to clear the plaque buildup and reduce bacteria from your mouth. Dentists recommend brushing twice a day to maintain good oral health and decrease tooth and gum decay. Having good oral hygiene can also help your immunity to becoming better. But it is very important to brush the right way.

The Right Way to Brush

Wet the brush with water and take a small amount of toothpaste. Place your brush at a 45-degree angle to reach the gums. Use gentle circular motions to clear any buildup on gums.  Make sure to brush the top, bottom and sides of your teeth. Spill out the remaining toothpaste and rinse your mouth Use a tongue cleaner to get rid of plaque buildup on the tongue Rinse your mouth again with cold water.

Toothpaste alternatives

If you need an alternative to your toothpaste then use baking soda. It will help clear yellow stains from your teeth. One can also use virgin coconut oil to get rid of bacteria.

How often to change your brush?

It is recommended to change your brush every 2 months due to the bacteria buildup in it. One can also change the brush when one notices the bristles drooping or losing their shape.

How long to brush?

One should not brush for longer than 2-3 minutes. Brushing more can cause the brush to destroy the natural protective coating of the teeth.

How should you brush?

When it comes to pressure, one must find a balance between too hard and too soft. Brushing vigorously can create more damage than good. Try thinking of a massage. The goal is to clear the plaque and not to take away the teeth’s natural layer.

How to store your brush?

People often make the mistake of storing the toothbrush wet. Make sure you make the toothbrush devoid of all water before you store it in its cap or naturally. A wet surface can cause bacteria to grow and can also attract dust.
