Uttar Pradesh government has taken a serious note of the new variant of Coronavirus that has surfaced in UK and several other countries. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has instructed to take complete precautions and keep up vigil in view of the new threat.

He has instructed officials to be very strict on contact tracing of people coming from abroad. In a high level meeting on Covid-19 yesterday at Lucknow Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath instructed that effective tracing and quarantine system should be ensured for people who have travelled to the state in the last 15 days from such countries where new form of Coronavirus is detected.

He directed the Health Department and local administration to issue a helpline number in this regard and be .

Meanwhile, Chief Minister also instructed that it be ensured that in no case the fee of RT-PCR test by private labs is charged not more than Rs. 700 per test. A fee of Rs.900 per test may be taken in case the sample is collected from home.

Expressing satisfaction on the 95.68 per cent recovery rate of Covid-19 in state, the Chief Minister instructed to improve it further. He said that the state government is committed to protect people from corona infection therefore, all efforts should be continued in this direction.

He said that the e-Sanjeevani app should be widely publicized so that more and more people can get the benefit of online medical consultation through the app.
