Health workers in Himachal cover 95% of the state for COVID-19 signs.

In around two weeks from April 1,  almost 16000 grassroots health workers—ASHAs, In less than two weeks beginning April 1, around 16,000 workers that includes ASHAs, auxiliary midwives, Anganwadi workers, health center staff have also trekked 120 Km uphill from Shimla to do a door-to-door screening of COVID-19 cases and covered 95 percent of Himachal’s population as part of an Active Case Finding Campaign launched by the State government in its effort to curb the Coronavirus spread. To accomplish the hill task to the absolute level they had to trudge through snow and forest, water streams and worked even 16 hours a day to complete data entry through Google Form.

The result is commendable as now the Himachal government has created a huge database of health according to which testing and surveillance are categorized for certain areas. According to the data 66.4 lakh, people are screened thus far and rest will be covered shortly.
