B Lab’s updated B Corp 2.1 standards, launched in 2025, represent a shift from a flexible 80-point score to a more rigorous, mandatory, and topic-specific performance requirement system. These standards require companies to meet, rather than choose, performance thresholds across seven key impact areas—including Purpose & Stakeholder Governance, Climate Action, and Fair Work—designed to align with global regulations like the EU's Empowering Consumers for the Green Transition Directive.
Greenplaces first earned its B Corp certification in November 2025, meeting verified standards of social and environmental performance, transparency, and accountability. The company now builds on that milestone by helping businesses operationalize the systems, documentation, and reporting infrastructure required to meet the more rigorous expectations introduced under B Corp 2.1 and to maintain certification over time.
“B Corp 2.1 changes the conversation from achieving certification to sustaining measurable impact,” said Alex Lassiter, CEO and founder of Greenplaces. “Organizations need more than a point-in-time submission. They need durable systems that support ongoing monitoring, verification, and improvement. That is exactly what we help companies build.”
Certified B Corporations are part of a global movement of businesses committed to using business as a force for good. Certification requires companies to meet rigorous third-party standards across governance, workers, community, environment, and customers. As the framework evolves, organizations face higher expectations for performance tracking, documentation, and continuous improvement across all impact areas.
With its expanded B Corp readiness and recertification support, Greenplaces aims to help more organizations meet the rising standard for responsible business while reducing the complexity of managing certification in an evolving regulatory and reporting environment.
Greenplaces, a leading sustainability platform helping companies measure, manage, and improve their environmental impact, today announced an expanded commitment following its Certified B Corporation™ designation: helping organizations prepare for certification and recertification under B Lab’s updated B Corp 2.1 standards.
