In the previous 40 years, there has been an increase in asthma worldwide, especially among children, leading to economic pressure. Asthma affects 300 million individuals worldwide, with the majority of cases increasing by 50% every decade. Asthma is a non-communicable lung disease that affects all ages but is common and severe in children; also the most popular in low-income countries.

The Symptoms of asthma are as follows:

  • Fatigue
  • Wheezing
  • Wowing
  • Chest tightness

The other forms of asthma include occupational asthma, adult-onset asthma, and pediatric asthma. Following the rumours report on the causes of asthma, we shall discuss the causes and ways to prevent asthma in this article.

What can cause and lead to an asthma attack?
Many factors contribute to asthma attacks that you are unaware of. You should know this is a common thing that happens to everyone but might react to some other people, which include:

  • Infections like the common cold and influenza are common
  • Allergies
  • Pollution and tobacco smoke
  • Fragrance
  • Emotions involve threats like stress and laughter

What are the reasons for the current increase in asthma cases?
Thousands of people are diagnosed with asthma yearly, causing a nonstop spread.

What can be the cause? Studies show that the number of people affected by asthma is increasing due to environmental pollution and poor air climate. These days, the Houses we built are very close together, which reduces the flow of fresh air. As a result, dust and mites, which promote asthma, are always in a closed home.

Also, a lack of vitamin D can increase asthma cases. Vitamin D is beneficial in the growth of the lungs and immune system. Unfortunately, we all spend more time indoors with our phones and tablets, which leads to less exposure to sunlight and reduced Vitamin D production in the body.

How can asthma affect your daily activities?
Your physical and mental health can be affected as well as your daily activities, if you can't avoid that thing that triggers your attack. Let's see some aspects it can affect :

  • Physical exercises: Asthma can prevent you from exercising or participating in sports, resulting in diabetes, high blood pressure, depression, and weight gain
  • Sleep disturbance: You may experience symptoms at night, which can deprive you of sleep. Performing your daily activities like going to school or work will be difficult if you don't sleep well.
  • Complications from medication: Some medications can have side effects on your health and put you in life-threatening situations such as rapid heartbeat, insomnia, and throat discomfort.

What can you do to keep an asthma attack from happening?

Asthma attacks plagued over 262 million people in 2019, with 455,00 cases reported. We can see the number of people who have asthma attacks in a year. Medications and inhalers are helpful, but you must avoid asthma triggers to live a healthy life, such as

  • Avoid smoke areas
  • Avoid getting a cold
  • Take your prescription regularly
  • Vaccinate yourself
  • Use a peak flow meter

Asthma is not a dangerous illness that can pass down from one person to the next. However, you must carefully monitor your health to avoid danger. If you don't treat it, it can lead to the consequences listed above, putting you in danger of dying. Therefore, you should take care of your health, attend appointments, take your medications on time, avoid allergies, and contact your doctors in an emergency.
