The Bengaluru Nagarapalike has also introduced new rules for wearing masks

Bengaluru urban district records Country's highest Covid active cases. The Nagarapalike has also introduced new rules for wearing masks. It is now made mandatory for those travelling in four wheelers to wear masks irrespective of them driving alone or with windows closed. Earlier the car drivers driving alone with windows closed were exempted from wearing masks. However children below the age of five years are exempted from wearing masks.

As per the latest data available, the district has 46,628 active cases and has reported 3778 deaths due to the viral infection.

It was reported that the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike and Health department is making efforts to reduce the number of Covid positive cases in the district.

According to the latest data released by the Covid war room, Bengaluru urban district has a recovery rate of 84.7 per cent and Case fatality rate of 1.1 percent.

To mitigate the number of positive cases the Health and city Corporation has increased the number of tests and improved the contact tracing.

The City Corporation administrator Gaurav Gupta today reviewed the testing facilities in Primary Health Centres and also visited the East zone Command Centre to find out their measures to enforce home quarantine norms.
