After Kota now Rajkot faces 111 child deaths in December

Rajkot faces 111 child death after Kota

Like JK Lon Hospital,Kota, horrific child deaths has been reported from civic run hospital at Gujarat.According to hospital's medical superitendent,Manish Mehta 111 children died at Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay Hospital, Rajkot, last December. This was after  71 child  in November and 87 child in October also faced tragic end.He also said heavy flow of patients with critical illness is one of the reasons while low birthweight is another killer of infant.


To highlight the reason behind those death, medical superindent of Rajkot has confirmed that most of the infants were seriously ill. He also pointed out that to deal with such type of problem in future hospital is trying to increase more facilities on urgent basis.News of infant death has also emerged from a civil hospital in Ahmedabad,where around 250 children was died in the last 3 months.
The main reasons cited for those death was pre-mature delivery, low birth weight, lung infection, malnutriition etc.Sometimes however, the would be mother was not be able to reach the hospital ontime due to the distance.
