Radish belongs to the Brassicaceae family. The chemical agents present in this are responsible for its pungent flavor. This is widely used as salads, soups, and even pickles. It is full of nutrition and can be used for cooking purposes

Radish is one of the special vegetables grown in the winter season and is one of the most used vegetables in India and Pakistan. Radish should be eaten raw to get maximum health benefits. According to experts, vitamins of radish are lost in cooking. Radish can be used as a salad (in raw form) and also cooked with other vegetables. Apart from calcium, phosphorus, and vitamin C, radish is rich in iron also. Radish tops other vegetables when it comes to nutrition and health. 

Helps in controlling blood pressure - Radish provides potassium to your body, which can help in reducing blood pressure and controls blood flow. Other than this, many types of research have shown that the use of radish has a cooling effect on the blood.

Due to its anti-congestive property, it is very effective against cough. This special vegetable of winters clears the mucus from the throat and respiratory tract.

Boosts immunity – Radish is rich in vitamins A, C, B6, potassium, and other minerals, which can provide good immunity. The use of radish also provides antioxidants and anthocyanins, which means are very beneficial for your heart.

Good for your skin - Apart from all the vitamins, phosphorus and zinc are also found in radish. When all these are taken together in the form of radish, they can prove to be useful in dealing with problems like acne and dryness of your skin.

Keeps you hydrated – Radish contains a high-water content, due to which radish keeps the body hydrated naturally. Consuming jaggery after eating radish, helps in its quick digestion and avoids bad odor from the mouth.

Good for the digestive system – Radishes are full of roughage and fiber. So, it is good for the digestive system to keep moving. Half cup of radish contains 1 gm of fiber.

A better way of using it is to peel and cut the radish and after applying black pepper and a little salt, keep it under the open sky at night. Radish will get soaked with dew overnight, and then use it the very first thing in the morning. An important thing, one should avoid eating radish at night.
