Mumbai-based healthtech startup, Qure.ai received a grant award of £3.2 million from the Small Business Research Initiative or SBRI. The grant was provided along with NHS Cancer Programme and Accelerated Access Collaborative. Qure.ai was one of the 8 startups that collectively gained more than Rs 90 crores for faster and early detection of cancer.

Qure.ai uses AI algorithms and deep learning technology to accurately diagnose radiology images thereby reducing the overall time required for early- lung cancer treatment. Qure.ai’s cancer detection solution is currently available in 50+ countries at around 500 sites. They cater to over four million patients.

Qure.ai’s other tools have been used by Primary Health Care Centers in India for detecting tuberculosis. This can help identify 29 lung abnormalities including the Covid-19 virus.

qXR can segregate abnormal scans from normal and interpret abnormalities in the lungs, pleura, mediastinum, bones, diaphragm, and heart. Their product qER can detect abnormalities from brain CTs. POqUS facilitates enhanced care for cardiovascular diseases (Stroke, CAD, PAD) by leveraging AI for early detection, characterization, and monitoring of atherosclerosis.

Previously, Qure.ai was incubated at Fractal Analytics with an early investment of $30 million. The startup was founded by Prashant Warier. It was founded in 2016 with the mission to make artificial intelligence in healthcare more accessible and affordable. They had raised $16 million in 2020 by Sequoia Capital India.
