Bindas Bol with Dr. Kumar Kamble - Episode 1- Masturbation and Myths related to it

It is important to focus on sexual and reproductive health to control the spread of STDs(Sexually Transmitted Diseases) The topic of sexual and reproductive health must be given major importance among adults and teenagers. Awareness is the only solution to all reproductive and sexual health-related problems. At Medcircle, we are presenting the Ask The Expert Series on sexual health. The series is titled Bindas Bol with Dr. Kumar Kamble. 

Dr.Kumar Kamble is an expert Psychiatrist, De-addiction Specialist, Sexologist, Speaker, Mental and Sexual Health Educator. He is also associated with the Umang Clinic. He has worked with King Edward Memorial Hospital as a Medical Office Coordinator. His main interest lies in advocating correct information on sexual health and spreading awareness about the same. 

Masturbation is a topic that is less discussed and spoken about. One needs to get correct information about masturbation so that any kind of misinformation or ignorance does not lead to major health problems. 

Episode 1 of Bindaas Bol with Dr.Kumar Kamble deals with masturbation and myths associated with it. He explains the various male sexual health systems and clears the doubts related to masturbation. Dr. Kamble explains that masturbation is a completely natural and safe activity of the human body. It does not cause any negative impact on the human body. 

The natural practice of masturbation 

Dr.Kumar Kamble informs, "Masturbation is self-stimulation of genital organs for own satisfaction to fulfill sexual desires. Thirst, appetite, sleep, or sexual desires are very basic desires of human life. When you want to fulfill sexual desires, it can be self-fulfilled through masturbation or fulfilled by a partner. When a sexual partner is absent, masturbation is one of the ways to fulfill your sexual desires."

Masturbation is present in both males and females.

Dr. Kamble informs, “Both men and women indulge in the masturbation act. Masturbation does not cause any negative physical and mental impact on the body.” 

Dr.Kumar Kamble clears the questions and the myths associated with masturbation

Myth #1 Masturbation impacts memory 

Dr.Kamble informs,” Masturbation cannot cause any negative impact on your memory power. It is a natural activity like walking and running. Walking and other activities do not cause any impact on memory similarly masturbation has no negative impact on the memory. There is no connection between the memory and masturbation.” 

Myth #2 Masturbation impacts the penis size 

Dr.Kamble gives a clear view to the audience by giving an example, “The tongue is used every day for talking but there has been no impact on the tongue due to overindulgence in talking. Similarly, masturbation has no impact on the penis size.”

Masturbation is a natural and safe activity of the human body

According to him, masturbation is a completely safe and natural act of the human body. Dr.Kamble says, “Sex is a very essential drive and desire of human life. Masturbation is one of the forms and expressions of sexual desires which is very natural. Indulging in masturbation is not a wrongful act. There is no negative impact on the body. This is a natural way of expressing your sexual desire and drives to satisfy your sexual needs” 

Myths associated with masturbation can lead to guilt in the mind. 

Dr. Kamble also helped in clarifying the guilt associated with masturbation and informs, “Suppressing your drives, desires, and needs due to myths associated with masturbation can result in guilt. Spreading the right awareness and message is very important to have a guilt-free mind. Practicing masturbation will not affect your masculinity or femininity.”

Elimination of semen and sperms through the natural process is very important 

Dr. Kamble explains, ”Urine, stool, and semen are naturally produced by the body. Eliminating these products is very important every day. There is no storage mechanism or system for sperms in the body. It is important to eliminate unwanted dead semen and sperms through natural processes like sexual activity, masturbation, and nightfalls. There is no negative impact on the body due to loss of sperms.”
